- Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
Is an internationally recognized standard of processing for textiles made from organic fibers. Define high level requirements throughout the supply chain, from harvesting of raw materials to labeling in an environmentally and socially responsible way.
The growth in consumption of organic fibers and the strong demand of unified processes criteria of the industrial and retail sector prompted leading international standards bodies in developing GOTS certification as a credible guarantee for consumers.
The inspection and certification of processors, manufacturers and traders is done by independent bodies accredited especially by GOTS, being OIA one of these.
Scope of the GOTS certification:
- Certification of textile mechanical processes (combing, carding, spinning, etc.).
- Certification of wet processing (scouring, dyeing, etc.) and finished garments.
- Certification of comercial operations.
