What us Preserved Identity?
Preserved Identity refers to a quality assurance system of a grain specialty that provides to consumers a clear identification of the differential product characteristics.
What are Grain Specialties?
Grain specialties are all grains, grain products and by-products resulting from a specific production, transport, storage and distribution system that provides a differentiation of certain attributes.
(All sowing, transport, delivery, storage, sale, purchase, distribution, export operations that preserve the grain traits to be certified as PRESERVED IDENTITY).
What is a Genetically Modified Organism or GMO?
Those animal or vegetal organisms whose DNA chain has been altered to introduce a gen from other organism in order to get some traits or special functions. For example, Soybean Gliphosphate resistant (herbicide) or RR Soybean.

Preserved Identity - Non GMO is a private certification system approved by the government, that guarantees the quality and attributes of grains and differentiated grain specialties according to standards declared for each variety. For instance, Non-GMO Certification. The producers can adhere voluntarily to it.

These Standards respond to CONSUMER needs that today require SAFE FOOD, knowing its ORIGIN and PRODUCED ACCORDING TO GUARANTEED SANITARY CONDITIONS.

Labeling Requirements
Besides the seal, the packaging must include:

• Phrase "Quality Attribute - Certified as Non Transgenic"

• Phrase "Certified by Organización Internacional Agropecuaria - "Reg. SENASA N°1 bajo Res. 61/00 "

• Lot number identifying origin and manufacturing

• Information about Production or manufacturing responsible person.
 
 
  Remember that the product labels must be previously approved by OIA before printing and being used.
