Olivícola Laur has just certified its Laur Extra Virgin Classic olive oil as organic. It is Laur’s best-selling olive oil both in the domestic and foreign markets, with an annual production of more than 500,000 bottles.

The Organic Classic Extra Virgin Laur is a blend made with olives of the typical varieties of the traditional Mendoza olive growing (among them, Farga, Frantoio, Arauco, Lechino, Manzanilla and Arbequina), coming from certified organic protected centenary olive trees of the Cruz de Stone (Maipú, Mendoza).

This farm was planted with olive trees more than 100 years ago, when the cultivation methods were very different from the current ones and the varieties were only classified as “oil can” and “for canning”. For this reason, the oldest traditional crops are made up of different varieties in the same plantation and even in the same plant, as a result of the grafts that were carried out to optimize production.

The harvest is manual and takes place between April and June, and the extraction is carried out through a continuous centrifugal extraction system, resulting in an extra virgin olive oil with a total acidity of less than 0.5 with a fruity aroma and intense presence. apple and banana and sweet memories. In the mouth it has a light, sweet structure, with connotations of grass and a slight spicy and bitter presence and delicate on the palate.

Precisely these balanced and harmonic attributes make it one of the preferred olive oils for everyday use not only by the Argentine palate, but also by foreigners.

“It is a great pride and happiness to be able to announce the launch of the new Organic Classic Extra Virgin Laur on the market. In the coming weeks this olive oil as we knew it will be discontinued and it will become 100% organic certified by the OIA (Organization Internacional Agropecuaria) “, explained Gabriel Guardia, general manager of Laur and oenologist specialized in the production of olive oil.

This organic certification is in addition to those that this Kosher oil already has, without TACC and HACCP, and the Cruz de Piedra Blend de Terroir Orgánico, which was certified organic in 2020.

“Almost 5 years ago we embarked on this path of greater sustainability and commitment to the environment that is evident in all our production,” concluded Guardia.
