November 1st: World Vegan Day
10 Nov 2022
Organización Internacional Agropecuaria (OIA), accompanies consumers and producers who adhere to this lifestyle and is authorized to certify, through a private protocol, vegan products.
Since 1994, World Vegan Day has been celebrated around the world every November 1st. The origin of the World Vegan Day has to do with the foundation of “The Vegan Society”, which dates back to November 1, 1944.
Veganism is a lifestyle that is progressively adding new followers around the world, based on environmental care, respect for animals and the environment. This is why these trends undoubtedly influence purchasing habits and generate new market niches in which the concept of responsible business predominates. Consumers are not only looking to replace meat and dairy products, but also to verify the ingredients and additives in products.
Recently in Argentina, the labeling of vegan and vegetarian products was regulated. Faced with this panorama and the need for rapid identification of these products, OIA has created the Private Protocol DNE 033 for Vegan and Vegetarian products with the aim of certifying products that do not contain animal ingredients and have not been tested on animals.
The OIA VEGAN and OIA VEGETARIAN seals are a recognized registered symbol for the labeling of vegan and vegetarian products and services.
The OIA Protocol is designed so that all food, cosmetics and clothing and their primary and intermediate raw materials that have been produced without the use of animals or their products or by-products can be certified.
This includes the primary production of products and inputs, transportation, storage, processing and industrialization, packaging, labeling and distribution.
