13 Jan 2023
We continue to grow and incorporate certification services to provide our customers with all the security for their products to access the most demanding markets.
OIA, a leading certification company, has achieved accreditation to become Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC). It was established in 2017 by a group of farmers, business leaders and experts in soil health, animal welfare and social equity collectively called the Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA). Its founders include Patagonia provisions, Patagonia, Dr. Bronners ALL-ONE and the Rodale Institute.
Regenerative Organic Certified® is a new certification that can be applied to food, fiber and personal care ingredients. Today it is mainly requested by the U.S. market.
It is important to note that in order to obtain it, it will be necessary to be certified by the USDA-NOP Standard, since this standard is used as a reference.
Regenerative organic agriculture is based on three main pillars of agriculture: soil health, animal welfare and social justice. Regenerative organic agriculture promotes practices such as: cover crops, crop rotation, minimal or no tillage, compost and zero use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. By adopting regenerative organic practices on more farms around the world, long-term solutions to the climate crisis, industrial agriculture and fractured rural economies can be created.
